Mova Globes FAQ's

From the distinctive graphics to the advanced technology, it only takes one look to realise MOVA Globes are something special. MOVA Globes rotate with no batteries or wires using first-of-its-kind technology but we understand some customers have questions regarding their globes, so we have hopefully compiled everything you need to know in this FAQ page, however if you have any other enquiries please do get in touch.

Do MOVA Globes Need to be Outdoors Since They Are Solar-Powered?

Although MOVA Globes contain solar cells, they are designed as indoor decor items and actually operate best in ambient light. It is best not to keep MOVA Globes exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, as this can lead to the graphics fading.

What Kind of Lighting Works Best with MOVA Globes?

Fluorescent lighting, LED lights, and indirect sunlight flowing through windows provide the most optimal lighting. MOVA Globes will rotate in any sufficient ambient light. We suggest avoiding high-powered halogen lights due to the heat they emit. For darker designs, place them under direct light to operate effectively.

What Happens to MOVA Globes When the Lights Turn Off?

MOVA Globes have a "sleep cycle" similar to humans. They will slow down and stop in the absence of sufficient lighting but will resume rotation once the lights are turned back on.

I Notice a "Bubble" at the Bottom of My MOVA Globe. Is That Normal?

Yes, it is normal. The "bubble" you see is due to the different densities of the clear fluids between the inner and outer shells. It may be more visible depending on the graphic and lighting, but it does not affect the globe’s rotation.

Why is There a Small Hole on My MOVA Globe?

The small clear fill hole on the outer shell and a small black dot on the inner shell are for fluid injection during production. The location of these fill holes may vary on each MOVA Globe.

Why is the Inside of My MOVA Globe Not Completely Filled?

The fluids in the inner shell may be more visible in darker graphics (such as the Black & Silver) because the film needs to be transparent enough to allow light to pass through.

How Long Does the MOVA Globe Warranty Last?

Please contact Mova Globes directly to discuss their warranty policies.

Can the MOVA Globe Be Placed on a Different Stand Than the One That Came With It?

Yes, any stand will work as long as it has an adequate grip to stabilize the globe and is not made of iron or magnetized, as these can interfere with the globe's rotation.

Why is There a Misalignment on My Globe’s Graphic?

A misalignment of up to 3mm is allowed due to the handcrafted nature of MOVA Globes. This is not considered a defect and does not qualify for a warranty replacement.

Do MOVA Globes Last Forever?

While Mova Globes may not last 'forever' in a literal sense, they are certainly designed to be enjoyed for many, many years.

What is the returns policy for sending back my Mova Globe?
